About the Business Unit:

Ooredoo’s Consumer business unit is a critical part of the company’s first line customer facing activities for all consumer product offerings and has a significant role to play in long term business value creation through product design, achievement of sales revenue, profit and customer satisfaction, as defined in the annual business plans.

The Analytics team within Consumer Planning & Analysis team create business value by harnessing Ooredoo’s data assets. The team consists of techno commercial resources who use technology and wide variety of data realms to solve business challenges. The span of activities is not only limited to marketing but also covers sales and distribution, networks, finance and strategic areas. The team is responsible to deliver insights and status quo and also considered as advisory function to design and deliver sharper, efficient, value driven decisions through the use of commercial data science practices.

About the Role:

 This role is responsible for designing, building and managing Ooredoo’s analytics capabilities in order to develop a superior understanding of the market and the customer. 
 
This role also leads business transformation, as it will enable data collection from heterogeneous sources, cluster these to uncover meaningful business opportunities and enable tailored propositions, which are real time to take Ooredoo to the forefront of Big Data revolution & Predictive analytics.

About You:

You should have at least 12 years' professional experience, with at least 5 years in Applied Analytics and Managing Analytics teams in a commercial setting - telecommunications, finance, retail analytics, subscription analytics, business consulting, medicine/pharmaceuticals, academic and commercial research institutions. You should have experience with Big Data, Marketing Analytics and Experimental Design and/or Digital Marketing. You should have experience in leading & managing techno-commercial teams with a mix of report developer, insight analyst, modeller, visualization experts. You must have had exposure to data governance, machine learning and logical data models; and also must have been a part of multiple ground-up BI initiatives.

 Skills Required:

  • Expert level expertise in reporting platforms such as Qlik, Tableau, BO, Cognos, Microstrategy etc.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SQL / SAS / R / Python.
  • Knowledge and understanding of structured and unstructured data streams and storage systems.
  • Excellent communication, cross functional collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Aptitude to translate business requirement into simple technical flow.
  • Leadership experiences.
      

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

You should possess a degree in engineering (computer, electrical, mechanical, computational mathematics). Degree in MIS, Econometrics, and pattern recognition.

It is preferred to have an Advanced Degree (PhD level) in Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Physics, Applied Mathematics and related technical fields; and Technical certification in programming skills (SQL, SAS, C++, R, Python).
